The 2011-12 European club football season was full of incredible performances and memorable teams that have fans salvating for next season.  

Chelsea won a dramatic PK shootout to claim London's 1st ever Champions League crown despite their unpopular (except to The Blues fans) and unattractive style. 

Borussia Dortmund won the domestic double for the 1st time in their history by winning The Bundesliga title with a record 81 points and the DFB-Pokal Cup, sweeping Bayern Munich in route to both trohpies.  Read more about The Best Team in European Club Football

For weeks, I have had all kinds of thoughts as to what to write for my next entry. So instead of trying to come up with a uniting theme and making one article for each, why not just put a bunch of thoughts down, keyboard to server.

Nothing in all of sports is more dramatic & heart-arresting than a PK shootout but everyone wants to see the match won in regulation or extra time.  Most people believe that the PK shootout is "a lottery" that doesn't determine the better team.  Even though, no one "practices" picking numbers for the lottery.   Professional soccer players do practice PKs, although probably not as much as they should (See Carlos Tevez in 2004 Recopa Sudamericana vs. Peru's Cienciano).  Read more about Ways To Avoid The PK Shootout
