Phil Schoen Should Not Be the Main Play By Play Commentator

Phil Schoen has a great voice for the trade, but his style not only shows his lack of knowledge but serious lack of entertainment. I wish I could mute his side of the commentary and just listen to Ray and even Ray isn't perfect. I have been hearing the last couple of weeks that Florentino Perez has promised this and that. Listen, buddy (I have no idea if you read this or not, but hopefully someone will point it out to you), Florentino has not said anything AT ALL to the media about his potentially being a candidate. His wife has cancer and he won't decide until he understands the affects of it on his familial obligations.

Now that we have that out of the way. How about the rumor that he has promised players and Wenger to be the coach. You do understand that Rumor came from an English tabloid calling on an "Exclusive"? Do you not understand that Spain's top two Madrid happy papers want Florentino in office and both have held no exclusivity statements or promised anything on behalf of Florentino just yet? Do you not find that just a bit weird that Florentino would get his people to make statements away from home during his time of contemplation on whether his family will be able to take his being president again?

Let's turn to your commentating style now. Why is it that almost every single match you say "if" this and "if" that? The match is being played and if something doesn't happen it doesn't happen. What if lightning struck the stadium...what if you actually learned how to commentate the actual match and let the other commentator actually do some color. You have no idea what the heck you're talking about half the time because you take things as gospel. You make mistake after mistake and since you are probably the boss no one tells you to shut up and stop restating the same mistake over and over again.

Your jokes aren't funny and the awkwardness between you and Ray when you make a silly joke that no one laughs at just makes it even that much worse to listen to. You just said that Caceres is having a rough start at Barcelona. Wow, what a great synopsis of his time at Barcelona. His time at Barcelona has not been rough genius. He has better players in front of him and because he is there for depth he has to wait for his time. Would you rather he be sold so that Barcelona have one less player? Give me a break man. Just because a player isn't playing you have to look at the circumstances.

The last Madrid match you said that Madrid weren't able to get rid of Marcelo and then quickly added that there weren't really many rumors that they were. Why in the world would you bring it up? You also said that Heinze was moved to the LB position and has started playing well again. You do realize that Heinze spent half of his time as a LB during the first half of the season, right? Both he and Marcelo played very poorly at the start of the season in any position they played. Heck, the entire team played poorly for the first time except for a handful of the 25 man squad.

I just wish you would stop trying to be the color. YOU AREN'T A COLOR ANALYST. YOU DON'T READ THINGS WELL. I find it hilarious when you make a right call on a sub you pat yourself on the back. Let Ray do the Color and you take care of the..."Messi gets the ball down the right flank, he teases his marker to make the first move...blah blah blah".

And while I'm here, tell Ray to SHUT UP when you are calling a play. It's unprofessional and it's probably one of the main reasons you don't shut up yourself. The Color makes his comments AFTER you call the end of a play. Tell him to keep his orgasmic hollers on the down low until after you finish calling a goal or a chance. You guys are talking over yourselves and it does not make for good TV.
