Long time no read, dear readers. The past few months have seen some surprises and some not so surprising results in the Bundesliga. Mainz continue to impress and dominate in the Bundesliga, thanks in large to their dedication to developing young players and giving them ample opportunity to ply their trade.

We know Matin in Ottawa, (originally from Dortmund) is happy to see BVB atop the league table, and handsomely so at that. Led by their latest acquisition of young foreign talent by way of Shinji Kagawa as well as homegrown German phenomenon Mario Götze. Read more about Das Boot! - Match Day 15

Well, my friends, the first week of action is in the books, and the German Football world is off to a great new start. Even without Arjen Robben, FC Bayern made due with their returned young midfield dynamo Toni Kroos, who played a lovely lofted ball into Thomas Müller's path to have him hammer home the opening goal in an eventual 2 - 0 win of VfL Wolfsburg.

Dear Readers, I can not impart upon you the absolute chaos of emotion your humble narrator is currently experiencing. My Beloved Bayern München are through to the Champion’s League Semi-Finals, and in a moment of absolute elation, I was fortunate enough to purchase a ticket (in the Bayern Fan’s section, no less) for the second leg of the Champion’s League Semi-Finals. The season has been a roller coaster ride of drama and intrigue, as the usual suspects have shown themselves down the stretch in the race to the top of the Bundesliga table. Surging Stuttgart has risen from the depths of the basement to return for a late charge to the top, Dortmund and Bremen trail Leverkusen as two hated rivals, second place FC Bayern München faces table topping Schalke 04, with their being no end of drama leading up to this match. Well, another weekend draws near, dear readers, and this match day is marked by a few momentous occasions. Werder Bremen celebrate their 111th birthday this week, while all of Germany (most notably, fans of Hamburger SV) waits with baited breath for Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooij to make his first trot onto the pitch for his new squad. Well, we have awoken from our prolonged slumber, dear readers, and it has been a Ruud Awakening. Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy has recently signed a transfer agreement that will bring him to the Bundesliga. Hamburger SV acquired the Dutchman from Real Madrid in the hopes that he can help put HSV over the top and give them a chance at a Bundesliga title this season. It is the transfer season in the football world, and the story is that there is no story. It is hard to believe that two of the few notable moves which have been made this year were made in the Bundesliga, with VfB Stuttgart snatching up Christian Molinaro from Juventus on loan. The speedy Molinaro was seeing less and less playing time in Turin, and he instantly provides Stuttgart the kick-start they have needed since they have spent most of the first half of the season languishing perilously close to the drop zone.
